HIGHLIGHTS OF ZOOM MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY JANUARY 26, 2021 BY COPAD TEAM
CORE FOCUS: TRAINING OF TEACHERS FROM LOW INCOME SCHOOLS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES IN LAGOS
1. To remotely and synchronously train Teachers from low income schools in various local governments in Lagos through technology and small groups at various community resource centers to be established in these local governments.
2. To reach out to and work with NGOs in these local governments to volunteer their spaces as community resource center for the pilot training of these Teachers.
3. To run the first training at the spaces of these NGOs and use the content as publicity material/marketing tool to get funding for adequate set up of community resource centres for Teachers in these local governments (with laptops, generators, ACs etc)
4. To establish a strong relationship with these NGOs who would serve as anchor persons for COPAD as well as take on supervisory role so as to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training.
5. Interested NGOs will fill out pre-qualification forms to confirm suitability of their space for use. To design the form and submit for approval.
6. To contact resource persons for a list of suitable NGOs in various local governments especially NGOs that are tech. and education related.
7. To set up a curriculum design team for the training courses for these Teachers.
8. To carry out a training need assessment in these local governments prior to curriculum design with feedbacks from NGOs and schools in each community to ascertain Teachers training needs.
9. To reach out to other members of COPAD team to join sub-teams in the actualization of the project.
